PM Kisan 21st Installment 2026 : For millions of farmers across India, financial support from government schemes can make a big difference in managing agricultural expenses. One of the most important programs for farmers today is the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, commonly known as PM-KISAN. Launched in 2019, the scheme provides direct financial assistance to small and marginal farmers. Under this program, eligible farmers receive ₹6,000 every year. The amount is distributed in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each and transferred directly to the farmer’s bank account through the Direct Benefit Transfer system. This direct transfer helps reduce delays and ensures transparency in payments.

21st Installment Released for Crores of Farmers

The PM Kisan 21st Installment was officially released on November 19, 2025, during a public event in Coimbatore. During this installment release, the government transferred nearly ₹18,000 crore to about nine crore farmers across the country. This installment followed the 20th payment, which had been released earlier on August 2, 2025. For many farmers, these payments are very helpful because they assist with day-to-day agricultural expenses such as buying seeds, fertilizers, irrigation supplies, and other farming inputs. As of early 2026, farmers are now waiting for the next payment cycle. The 22nd installment is expected to be released around March 13, 2026, during an event in Guwahati.

Who Is Eligible for PM-KISAN Benefits

The PM-KISAN scheme mainly focuses on supporting small and marginal farmers who own cultivable land and depend on agriculture for their livelihood. The program is designed to provide basic financial help to farming families so they can manage seasonal expenses more easily. However, not everyone qualifies for the scheme. Institutional landholders, government employees, and certain higher-income professionals are generally excluded from receiving the benefits. To remain eligible, farmers must complete some important requirements. Aadhaar-based e-KYC verification is mandatory, and bank accounts must be properly linked with Aadhaar numbers. In addition, land ownership records must be verified through the state government databases. Farmers who do not complete these steps may experience delays or may not receive their installment payments.

How Farmers Can Check Payment Status

Farmers who want to confirm whether they have received their PM Kisan installment can easily check the status online. The official Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi portal provides a simple and convenient way to verify payment information. Farmers need to visit the website and go to the “Farmers Corner” section. From there, they can select the option called “Know Your Status.” After entering their registration number, Aadhaar number, or bank account details, they can see their payment history and installment updates. The portal also includes helpful tools like the Kisan eMitra chatbot, which assists users with common questions related to registration, eligibility, and payments.

Recent PM-KISAN Installment Details

Recent installment releases show how large the PM-KISAN scheme has become in supporting farmers across the country. The 20th installment was released on August 2, 2025, when about ₹20,500 crore was transferred to nearly 9.7 crore farmers. Later, the 21st installment was released on November 19, 2025, benefiting around nine crore farmers with approximately ₹18,000 crore distributed. The upcoming 22nd installment expected in March 2026 may benefit around 9.3 crore farmers, with an estimated transfer close to ₹19,000 crore. These numbers highlight the scale at which the scheme is helping farming families across India.

How the Scheme Supports Rural India

Since its launch, the PM-KISAN program has become one of the largest farmer income support schemes in India. Over the years, the government has transferred more than ₹4 lakh crore to over 11 crore farmer families through the scheme. This financial assistance helps farmers manage seasonal agricultural expenses and provides some stability during uncertain crop cycles. Direct bank transfers also reduce middlemen involvement and make the payment system faster and more transparent. Farmers are encouraged to keep their details updated and complete e-KYC verification to ensure they continue receiving future installments without interruption. Overall, the PM Kisan 21st Installment highlights the government’s continued effort to support rural livelihoods and strengthen the agricultural economy.
